About EOC Testing

The North Carolina End-of-Course (EOC) Tests are designed to measure student performance on the goals, objectives, and course-level competencies specified in the North Carolina Standard Course of Study (NCSCOG).

For End of Course exams in biology, NC Math 1, NC Math 3, and English II, the exams are given either in the final 10 days of a yearlong course, the final 5 days of a semester long course, or the final 5 days of a summer school course.

Students in grades 9-12 will take EOC tests for Biology, English II, NC Math 1, and NC Math 3. Students enrolled for credit in courses where EOC assessments are required must take the appropriate EOC assessment at the completion of the course.

How Do You Prepare for EOC Testing?

Identify Problem Areas

Regular assessments of standards-aligned material can help students make up knowledge gaps ahead of NCSCOG testing.

Employ Targeted Intervention

Create individual study and practice testing in students’ weak areas.

Practice Testing

Help students get more comfortable sitting for testing windows and answering questions online. Progress Learning can help by providing standards aligned practice to help students prepare for testing.
