What Is Progress Learning?

About M-STEP Testing

The Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress (M-STEP) is a computer-based assessment designed to gauge how well students are mastering Michigan Academic Standards (MAS).

The M-STEP is an online exam and is administered annually in the spring throughout April to mid-May.

In Michigan, students in grades 3-5 are assessed in English language arts and mathematics. Additionally, grade 5 students are assessed in science and social studies.

How Do You Prepare for M-STEP?

Identify Problem Areas

Regular assessments of standards-aligned material can help students make up knowledge gaps ahead of M-STEP testing.

Employ Targeted Intervention

Create individual study and practice testing in students’ weak areas.

Practice Testing

Help students get more comfortable sitting for testing windows and answering questions online. Progress Learning can help by providing standards aligned practice to help students prepare for testing.
