What Is Progress Learning?

About LEAP Testing

LEAP (Louisiana Educational Assessment Program) assessments are aligned to the Louisiana Student Standards which were developed with significant input from Louisiana educators.

LEAP is a computer based test (CBT) and is administered in the spring from the beginning of April to the middle of May.

For students taking a paper based test, their testing window is the first week of April.

Louisiana students take LEAP exams in grades 3-5. Elementary students will take assessments in English language arts, mathematics, science and social studies.

How Do You Prepare for LEAP?

Connect Parents, Students, and Teachers

Form a team of success with regular communication between parents, students, and teachers.

Use Tools From Your Toolbox

The Louisiana Department of Education provides a learning toolbox of resources for teachers and families. Progress Learning can help by providing standards aligned practice to help students prepare for testing.

Identify Problems and Intervene Early

Regular assessments of standards-aligned material can help students make up knowledge gaps ahead of testing. Create individual study and practice testing in students’ weak areas.
