What Is Progress Learning?

About Arizona State Testing

The Arizona Academic Standards Assessment (AASA) is a series of statewide exams given to students in grades 3-8. AASA exams are intended to measure students’ mastery of the state standards in English language arts and mathematics.

The AzSCI (Arizona Science Test) is used to measure students’ mastery of state science standards. Middle school students take the AzSCI test once, in 8th grade.

Test dates run from March 31 – April 25, 2025.

Students grades 6-8 are required to complete the Arizona Academic Standards Assessment (AASA), which tests grade level English (ELA) and Mathematics. Test dates run from March 31 – April 25, 2025.

Grade 8 students are also required to take the AzSCI assessment, testing grade-appropriate science topics such as earth and space science, physical science, and life science.
