Meet the Winners of Our Alien Ranking Card Design Contest
When we launched our inaugural Alien Ranking Card Student Design Contest, we hoped students would have fun creating their own alien characters. What happened next exceeded every expectation.
More than 500 original alien designs were submitted from classrooms across the country, each showcasing the creativity and imagination of the students who created them. After reviewing hundreds of submissions, the final 20 winners were selected through a company-wide vote, with team members across Progress Learning helping choose the designs that would become official Alien Ranking Cards.
Alien Ranking Cards are earned as students master standards and progress through the platform. For the first time, students had the opportunity to help create the characters that make up those rankings. Our design team worked closely with each winning submission to preserve the spirit of the original artwork while transforming it into a final card design.
The result? Twenty new Alien Ranking Cards designed by students, for students.
Scroll through the gallery below to see each student’s original artwork alongside the final Alien Ranking Card! New Alien Ranking Cards will be in action for the 2026-2027 school year in the Progress Learning platform starting August 1st, 2026.
