What We Are Looking For:
The Senior Account Executive is responsible for driving significant revenue growth by securing large-scale SaaS contracts with public K-12 school districts. This is a full-time, remote role, with preference given to candidates based in Illinois, Wisconsin, or Michigan. This role requires a strategic hunter capable of navigating complex procurement cycles and utilizing customer feedback and Salesforce data to develop high-impact sales proposals within the assigned territories.
The Senior Account Executive plays a key role in expanding Progress Learning’s impact by connecting educators with solutions that improve teaching and learning outcomes for students. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is proactive, comfortable with outbound prospecting, and accountable for building and managing their pipeline. They demonstrate persistence in follow-up, deliver compelling product demonstrations with confidence, and are motivated by achieving and exceeding sales goals.
Duties Include:
- Achieve sales targets by closing deals with new customers
- Conduct outbound prospecting to identify and qualify potential leads through cold calling, emailing, networking, and other lead generation activities
- Develop and present solutions that align with prospective customer needs and goals
- Analyze customer needs, challenges, and opportunities to position Progress Learning solutions effectively
- Engage with district leaders, decision-makers, and key stakeholders to understand their needs, challenges, and goals
- Generate new business opportunities within assigned territories
- Present and demonstrate Progress Learning solutions through virtual and in-person meetings and product demonstrations
- Develop and execute strategic territory plans to drive pipeline growth and revenue
- Share industry knowledge and sales best practices to support the development of other Account Executives
- Collaborate with internal departments to support company initiatives and execute overall business strategy
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactions in Salesforce
Required Skills, Behavior, or Knowledge
- Strong follow up skills
- 5+ years of experience in New Sales customer acquisition
- Proven success managing and growing complex, large-scale accounts
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams
