Courses that are designed to support NYCDOE staff and students in preparation for the adaptive SAT® School Day testing administration. We offer 2 models: the "We Teach It" option and the "You Teach It" option. Explore both options below to see which is right for your students.

Option 1: We Teach It

SAT® Readiness Courses are structured, engaging classes designed to prepare students for Spring SAT® School Day digital test administrations. Our readiness teachers are credentialed educators who believe every student deserves high-quality, equitable test preparation.

  • 24 hours of live instruction with expert teachers (Students move through a 12-hour core instructional sequence twice across 8 Saturdays to reinforce learning and provide targeted support. See course schedule below.)
  • Additional recorded sessions (24+ hours available for flexible review)
  • Three full-length digital adaptive SAT® practice tests, available during the program window
  • Immediate results and personalized next-steps
  • Targeted breakout sessions to support English learners, students testing with accommodations, students experiencing test anxiety, and high performing students
  • Flexible scheduling allowing students to personalize their Saturday attendance
  • Challenge resources that model testing strategies using higher-complexity items

Flexible Course Schedules

Flexible Start Dates – Enrolled students will have the freedom to join any scheduled Saturday session. Schools that complete the implementation process in January/February will provide their students with maximum flexibility in schedule choice and repetition of strategies. ‍Course designed for students taking the Spring 2026 SAT® School Day.

Additional Learning Opportunities – Engage your learners earlier with additional opportunities to prepare for the SAT® starting on Saturday November 1st, 2025.

Early-enrolled students will automatically receive thirteen additional weekly assignments allowing them to start their SAT® preparation even earlier. The optional, independent lessons will include pre-recorded video lessons, practice sets, and a full-length practice PSAT® allowing students to work at their own pace prior to the start of live classes on January 31st 2026.

Most independent lessons will take students 30 minutes per week to complete.  Early enrollment can take place anytime between onboarding and January 31st, 2026. No additional work is required by the site coordinator, simply enroll the student in the Progress Learning platform.

Group and Targeted Instruction

Strategy and Content instruction (120 minutes) – Live, whole group instruction led by Progress Learning master teachers. During whole group instruction, students will learn and apply key test-taking strategies that can help any student improve their overall SAT® score. Strategy and Content lessons will be available as recordings after the session.

Breakout sessions (60 minutes) – Targeted breakout sessions will allow students to self-select into 60min study sessions that will focus on specific skills and content knowledge. Breakout sessions will be leveled to ensure that every student is accessing content that helps them improve. Special breakout sessions will include: Strategies for English learners, Strategies for students with test anxiety, and Strategies for students with special needs. All breakout sessions will be recorded. Live + recorded instruction will exceed 6 hours per week.
