Year 2 Recap: The Progress Learning Ambassador Program

Two years ago, we launched the Progress Learning Ambassador Program, and what a journey it has been! In our first year, we had 185 ambassadors across the country. Fast forward to today, and we are thrilled to announce that our ambassador community has doubled in size, with nearly 300 ambassadors nationwide!

It has been an amazing journey, connecting with such a diverse and dedicated group of educators. We have a private Facebook Group, where we chat, network, and share strategies and ideas on how to advance education together.

Guiding our Ambassador Program is Alek Turner, Progress Learning’s Community Engagement Specialist. She was an educator for nine years, serving as an ESL teacher for K-6th grade and an Instructional Coach for PK-6th grade. She also supported the development of district scope and sequence curriculum for ELAR and SLAR for K-5th grades.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM OUR SECOND YEAR

Our ambassadors accomplished so many great things this year. First and foremost, they played a pivotal role in enhancing the Progress Learning platform. We asked them to share feedback with our product team, and they had some fantastic ideas on how to improve the student experience, reporting, and the teacher dashboard. They also shared insights on various topics, including plans for summer school, preparing students for testing season, and adopting new state house bills. When we asked them how we could better support their test preparation, they let us know what areas they needed more support in. We are currently working on implementing their suggestions into the platform.

Second, our ambassadors collaborated with us on various resources, including instructional activities for students to goal set and track progress in their learning. Our ambassadors also wrote insightful blog posts on a range of topics, including literacy, using data to drive instruction, supporting tiered learners, and building student accountability.

Next, our ambassadors led some exciting and engaging webinars. Topics covered accessibility and using learning accommodations to support instruction, as well as leveraging data to drive intervention and remediation. These webinars had a record-breaking number of registrations, with hundreds of educators attending. In fact, one webinar had nearly 700  registrations — the most of any webinar we’ve held.

And finally, multiple ambassadors presented at our June 2023 events. They talked about supporting English language learners, preventing teacher burnout, and driving learning through actionable data. We will have more ambassadors presenting at our event this summer, and we can’t wait to hear their insights and expertise.
