SC READY Practice Assessments

Progress Learning’s SC READY Practice Assessments give students a realistic preview of what they’ll face on test day before the stakes are real. As content becomes more rigorous and testing expectations increase in middle school, practice assessments help students build familiarity with the format and manage the demands of the real test. Our SC READY Practice Assessments include:

  • Pre-built assessments that mimic the real SC READY test in both content and format
  • Unique tests for all subjects and grade levels: 6-8 ELA and mathematics, plus 6th grade science
  • Fresh questions that are separate from the existing item bank, so students aren’t seeing questions they’ve answered before
  • Easy and flexible assignment options like start dates, due dates, and retry settings
  • Actionable data that lets teachers immediately assign practice on areas that students need to improve

About SC READY Testing

The South Carolina College- and Career-Ready (SC READY) Assessments are statewide tests that measure how well students have mastered the South Carolina College- and Career-Ready (SCCCR) Standards.

In middle school, the SC READY is administered in grades 6-8 ELAR and Math. Science assessments are given to students in 6th and 8th grade, and students in 7th grade take a social studies assessment.

However, due to a provision in the General Appropriations Bill, social studies exams for grades 3-8 will not take place in 2024-2025 school year.

How Do You Prepare for SC READY Assessments?

Start by reviewing the sample items and test blueprints on ed.sc.gov to understand the test’s content and structure. Then, create your own questions and assessments to help students with the topic they need to study. Progress Learning makes specific SCCCR aligned practice and exam review easy with a variety of tools for teachers, including a comprehensive assessment and assignment builder.

For middle school educators, your approach to SC READY test prep may vary by student and subject. Consider forming small groups, incorporating gamification into your instruction, or scheduling daily practice time to keep students engaged. By tailoring your teaching strategy to your students, you will improve their SCCCR mastery and boost their test performance.
